A Review by Wendy
4.5 Treated, Teased, Tiffany Reisz Stars
Publishers, I think, are always trying to see what the big trend
is going to be… They had to re evaluate their entire business models when
authors took charge of their destiny by self publishing, using the eBook
platform to reach millions and advertise their products through social media.
Some companies adapted, saw real talent and decided to
embrace these amazing authors. Tiffany Reisz is one of these blazing stars.
When I went to Ms. Reisz’s website, I was able to discern was she had Immersed
in Pleasure published in March 2012 through the arm of Harlequin Spice Briefs.
She had another piece in July and then the ground breaking The Siren was
published through Harlequin Mira August 2012.
The rest is history… awards, a massive following and demand
for anything Tiffany Reisz. It is gratifying to see smart concepts and
intelligent storytelling prosper. Harlequin saw the trend and desire from her
following and came up with Cosmo Red Hot Reads from Harlequin. These are erotic;
a little lighter fare with romance, sly wit and spice.
Misbehaving is the first taste of this concept and they were
brilliant having Tiffany be the first to launch this new arm. In this short
tale, Ms. Reisz uses the basis of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.
Bea is a sex toy reviewer…. She is seen getting ready to
leave for her foster sister’s wedding. Her boss needs her to cover for another
reviewer… this time a book called The Manual… a hipper… younger version of the
book The Joy of Sex… and in order to review properly… Bea will have to find an
actual person to try out all of the positions demonstrated. Well, this normally wouldn’t be an issue if
she was staying in NYC… plenty of friends to play with… if you know what I
mean… But because she is going to be out of town… well, this is a problem. Bea
explains to her boss to send whatever extras are needed for the review to the
hotel in care of her sister.
Her sister is very happy and the man she is to marry is her
perfect other half… they have been together since college and this event will
be bring all of their friends and family together for this beautiful event.
One of the people coming is Ben… he is the soon to be
groom’s best pal and long ago while all of them were in college together, he
fell hard for Bea and she him… BUT… the best pal card was pulled by Henry…
stating do not dare take out my girlfriend’s baby sister… you do that, it will
ruin my chances with her. Ben pulls away from Bea… never tells her why and both
have always had feeling for each other… but never acted on them.
Now because of the need for a sexual partner to review The
Manual… all of the stars have lined up for the both of them to quote Marvin
Gaye…. Let’s Get It On…..
This is the set up…. The outline is the Bard’s and it is
followed to the T…..But it is done Tiffany Reisz style… and she has planted her
tongue firmly in her cheek. It is fun, witty, sly, sexy and very sweet but not
in a cheesy way at all. I truly enjoyed every single moment.
All of the characters felt real and you wanted everything to
work out in the end. I hope there is more coming from Ms. Reisz under this new
umbrella of Harlequin as they are quick, fresh and have her touch to keep us
interested.
Author Bio
Tiffany Reisz lives in Lexington, Kentucky with her boyfriend (a reformed book reviewer) and two cats (one good, one evil). She graduated with a B.A. in English from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky and is making both her parents and her professors proud by writing BDSM erotica under her real name. She has five piercings, one tattoo, and has been arrested twice.
When not under arrest, Tiffany enjoys Latin Dance, Latin Men, and Latin Verbs. She dropped out of a conservative southern seminary in order to pursue her dream of becoming a smut peddler. Johnny Depp’s aunt was her fourth grade teacher. Her first full-length novel THE SIREN was inspired by a desire to tie up actor Jason Isaacs (on paper). She hopes someday life will imitate art (in bed).
If she couldn’t write, she would die.
